Best Math Learning Apps for Kids

Children interact with the world around them in such a pure and inquisitive way. Their beautiful little minds constantly questioning and learning in everything they do. They interact with their surroundings through play and through play they can learn so much. We are of the opinion that if they are laughing, they’re learning and so putting fun and functionality together into learning apps should be an obvious choice.

The digital age has brought with it a wide range of different apps and online games that promise to be as educational as they are entertaining. We’ve picked out some of what we believe to be the best math learning apps for kids on the market and collected them in a handy list for you.

Counting Caterpillar

The app is absolutely perfect, the beautiful design, gorgeous visuals, vibrant colors, and cute animation ensure that it’s rewarding and addictively fun to play. The basic idea is simple enough, through answering basic mathematical riddles the player feeds their caterpillar and slowly progresses towards helping him evolve into a butterfly. At the end of each level, you’re rewarded with that same butterfly to keep in your trophy case to mark the achievement.

As fun to play as an adult as it is for children, this fantastically designed game has done something a little special. The game quickly scales difficulty to match the players and so it will always keep your brain ticking. You have to stack numbers in order to solve the puzzle and whilst it’s not as infuriatingly difficult as Soduku it’s clearly as entertaining. Many other app developers are trying to muscle in on the popularity so make sure you’re downloading the original to avoid disappointment.

With an aquatic theme, cutesy character design, a massive selection of different games, and an in-depth introduction to each of the core mathematical lessons, this app has some serious academic credential. The thing that makes it one of the best math learning apps for kids though is that it’s just so fun to play. Progress is tracked and rewarded with fanfare and applause and the app continues to scale up the lessons to keep even the smartest learner on their toes.
